Is there a certain amount of time prescribed by law between the sale and purchase agreement and the signature of the official deed of sale in front of the Notary?

ChapterQuestion – Answer

No specific amount of time is prescribed by law

However, formalities, especially to obtain a real estate loan, require at least 2 or even 3 months after the signature of the sale and purchase agreement.

The Notary must also verify the validity of the sale and perform a number of duties with the urban planning department, the mortgage and land registry office, etc.

Consequently, plan for a fair amount of time between the two documents.
